Demography
Santa Catalina is a 5th class municipality in the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 12,537 people in 2,404 households. From written accounts dating to the Spanish era, the municipality was and still is predominantly Roman Catholic. Out of the 13,284 population, there are 13,029 or 98.08 percent Roman Catholics. The Iglesia Ni Kristo ranked second in the hierarchy numbering to 116 persons.
